Welcome to the 31st edition of the TAO Times, where we share weekly updates on all of the most important events occurring within the Bittensor ecosystem!
For validators, subnet owners, miners, token holders, & community members.
Here is what happened during the week of March 16th ↘️
Subnet Leaderboard
Chutes (SN64) & Gradients (SN56) made massive gains this week coming off the back of the Rayon team’s appearance on Novelty Search, where they demo’d the Subnets primary functionality and their new highly anticipated AI agent app, Squad.
As for BitMind (SN34), the subnet experienced some anomalous trading activity yesterday, where “a large holder (miner, staking, buying) unexpectedly sold their Alpha tokens today, causing significant price action,” according to BitMind founder Ken Miyachi.
As for our beloved TAO, the price has held steady around $250 for the past few weeks, which personally gives me confidence that the bottom is in barring any major geopolitical or macro news.
Highlights of the Week
⚡️ Tensora announced the launch of tao.com and the acquisition of the Bittensor Guru validator. Keith Singery, Mr. Guru himself, will now be taking on the role of the Chief Evangelist Officer (incredible title) at Tensora. Gyles, Co-Founder and CEO of Tensora stated that more announcements and a roadmap are on the way. Incredible news for everyone involved!
⚡️ Miners on SN56 (Gradients) have surpassed every centralized AutoML competitor, according to data presented by the Rayon team on last week’s Novelty Search.
⚡️ Seth Bloomberg released a one-month review of Dynamic TAO, examining key trends, including TAO staking, liquidity flows, and subnet emissions. Seth showcased that while TAO initially surged into root staking, it has since declined, with limited inflows into subnet pools.
Trading volumes remain strong, and new subnets are emerging, but liquidity challenges persist. Seth also highlights potential catalysts, such as shifting APY incentives, DeFi developments (TaoFi, Backprop), and new applications like TAO Naming Service and Taofu.
He emphasizes the need for better market transparency and transaction infrastructure while identifying business opportunities in wallets, trading bots, and MEV tooling.
