Highlights of the Week

🔥 The Opentensor Foundation has officially dropped the revised Dynamic TAO white paper, setting the stage for the ecosystem’s most anticipated upgrade. As most know, dTAO introduces a market-based emissions system, allowing rewards to be distributed more efficiently across the network, among other key changes that will permanently reshape the project. In the dTAO section below, we provide resources from community members that eloquently explain the different mechanisms dTAO introduces.

🔥 Chutes (Subnet 64) is processing approximately 43% of all DeepSeek traffic through OpenRouter, handling 2 billion tokens in two days and outperforming Microsoft Azure's offering.

🔥 Crucible Labs released its State of Bittensor 2024 report analyzing key developments from the past year. Outpost released an accompanying podcast discussion with Crucible Labs founder David Lawee (former Google executive and Alphabet growth equity fund founder), exploring BitTensor's history, notable subnets, Dynamic TAO implications, and predictions for 2025.

🔥 Our fourth TAO Times stream featuring Carro from Manifold, Jon Durbin from Chutes, and Steffen from Macrocosmos was a success. In this discussion we breakdown DeepSeek's recent open-source AI model release, debating its implications for the AI industry and Bittensor's potential to become a major distributor of AI compute power. Rob used an excellent analogy of Bittensor's role to Pepsi competing with OpenAI (Coca-Cola) in terms of global AI distribution capabilities.

🔥 The Endgame Summit, scheduled for April 25-27 in Austin, TX, has announced its first two speakers: Mog (CEO of TaoStats and Corcel_X, major Bittensor validator) and Xavier Lu (Opentensor Foundation researcher and dTAO co-designer).
